Did you know that only 1% of the beef sold in the USA are GRASS fed ONLY!!!
That is what we are ONE of the 1% of beef raisers. That's what you get ... grass fed beef. That is why it takes longer to get them to market.
You get lean meat. Not tough meat, lean meat. There is a difference.
We're a Ma and Pa farm. We are also the third generation on this farm. There is 80+ years of tradition here. So we try to do it better. We raise grass fed ONLY beef . We have Simmental/Angus and Simmental beef out here. This is where we are implementing the pasture to plate plan.
All we feed our cows is grass. NO corn! Grass fed beef is lower in calories, contains healthier omega 3 fats and more vitamin A&E as well as higher levels of antioxidants and up to 7 times the beta carotene as grain fed beef. We sell our cows at 800 to 900 lbs. not 1200 to 1600 lbs. We sell meat not fat. Just ask us about delivery to the metro area.
We like to hang our beef up to 14 days before cutting. This is to give you more flavor in the meat you buy. You pay for what you take home. A butchered whole cow weighs approx. 500 Lbs. so a half would be 250 lbs. and a quarter would be 125. All weights are approx. it depends on how big the cow is when it is butchered. You get Steaks, Roasts, ribs and hamburger. If you want something different just tell the butcher. There is a photo of different cuts of meat below
All we sell is mixed quarters. A mixed quarter is half front and half rear quarter. The price of the meat is $4.00 a lb that includes the butchering. We butcher in Appleton ,Mn. We require a $100 Down payment on the meat at time of booking.
The wrapping will be 1 lb hamburger, 1 to 5 lb roast, 1 or 2+ Steaks in a package or ribs. It depends on what you want.
Our beef is lean not fat. It is full of flavor and NOT tough to eat! Do not cook it medium done to well done.
